Join us for the relaunched Stopsley Challenge training run event in 2026.
After huge success and popularity within the club, we are opening up the Stopsley Challenge to the public and the event has now moved to a 3-hour format, which makes the perfect training run for your next spring marathon.
Sunday March 1st 2026
This run is open to all levels of ability runners, who are looking for a fun challenge on a fully sign posted and marshalled course around the picturesque country lanes near the village of Offley. Please note that roads will still be open.
The challenge is to complete as many 5 mile laps as you can, within the 3 hour time limit, with company. There is also a shorter lap, perfect for squeezing out a few extra miles or making sure you round up for the Strava kudos!
With no clocks, finish positions or medals, the real joy in the race is in sharing the hours and miles with both familiar and new faces. After each lap you can stop at our well stocked refuel station, so there is no need to carry any additional weight. The on-site cafe at base camp means there is the opportunity to keep warm with a coffee, tea or hot food after the event too.
Free parking, race photos, plenty of food and drinks for all participants.

The Stopsley Challenge is perfect for:
- Chasing your spring marathon glory, whether it’s your first or your fifth!
- Banking your long run with the motivation of a crowd and the support of a team, making those big-mileage days feel half as long.
- Looking to hit your first 10-mile, Half Marathon, or 20-mile marker? The unique 5.1mile main loop and 1.4 mile “top-up” loop let you dial in your distance and hit new mile stones.
- Forget overloaded heavy hydration vests and pockets of sticky gels. With our central basecamp, return to a fully-stocked refuel station every lap. High-mileage training with zero heavy lifting.
- Use the 3-hour clock to honestly gauge your fitness in a safe, looped environment. No maps, no getting lost, and no ego. Just you and a community of friendly faces pushing each other forward.
- Whether you’re a trailblazer or getting back into your stride after a break, our friendly atmosphere ensures you’re never alone. It’s all about group energy and shared goals.
